The Seminole County Grand Jury has indicted an Orange County man for murder for selling drugs to another man who fatally overdosed on cocaine and fentanyl.
The Grand Jury indicted SEAN HERMAN on May 13 for first-degree murder by unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
Herman, 35, became a suspect in June 2024 following the overdose death of Yerson Manuel Blas Hidalgo, 34, who was found dead in a recliner chair in his apartment in Altamonte Springs by family members who had gone to check on him. On the kitchen counter nearby, police found “a folded piece of paper with a white powdery substance in it.”
On the deceased man’s phone, investigators discovered numerous conversations in which Hidalgo had arranged to buy drugs from Herman and indicated he obtained drugs from Herman the day he died. Posing as Hidalgo, they arranged a controlled drug purchase from Herman – texting “Bring me 40 white, same place” – and arrested him when he arrived at the overdose victim’s apartment with suspected drugs.
The medical examiner later determined that Hidalgo had died from “combined toxicity with a mixture of cocaine and fentanyl.”
