A great grandfather from Geneva faces life in prison for molesting a child who was in his care a decade ago.
A Seminole County jury found LARRY D. BIDDLE, 77, guilty of lewd or lascivious molestation against a child younger than 12 based on evidence and witness testimony presented by prosecutors Martine McCarthy and Paul Brill.
The victim was five years old when Biddle touched her inappropriately at his home during a visit then told the girl never to tell anyone. She was 12 and living in another state when she disclosed Biddle’s lewd behavior to her mother and counselor. Now 15, the victim returned to Seminole County to testify at Biddle’s trial June 3.
Lewd or lascivious molestation is a felony punishable by up to life in prison. Biddle faces a minimum sentence of 25 years.
Circuit Judge Jessica Recksiedler scheduled sentencing for Aug. 6.
