April 16, 2007 Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Murder Suspect

The Brevard County Grand Jury issued a first-degree murder indictment Tuesday (April 10) against Silvester Lee Walker, 31, in connection with the March 20 death of his wife, Toni Walker.

Walker was taken into custody on March 20 after he called Cocoa police to their home at 410 Edinburgh Dr. where he reported he discovered his wife unresponsive and not breathing. The couple had a pending divorce proceeding.

The Grand Jury heard from three witnesses including the medical examiner, a crime scene technician, and a police detective before returning the single count indictment, said Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt. Walker is scheduled for arraignment on the charge tomorrow at the Brevard County jail where he has been held without bail.
