The Seminole County Grand Jury returned a first-degree premeditated murder indictment Tuesday against Altamonte Springs resident Elkan A. Chance, 27, in connection with the March 21 death of Mark Allen Chandler, 32.

Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt said that the jury heard from an Altamonte Springs Police Department detective and a civilian witness before returning with the indictment.

Chance remains in the Seminole County Jail where he has been held without bail since his arrest by Altamonte Springs Police the night of the homicide.
