Seminole County Grand Jury Indicts in Marcus Killingsworth Homicide

A Seminole Grand Jury issued a first degree felony murder indictment today against Anthony Lamar Barnes, 25, in connection with the March 27 shooting death of Marcus Killingsworth in Sanford.

Sanford police arrested Barnes last month on suspicion of the shooting that left 33-year-old Killingsworth dead in front of a home on West 12th Street. The Grand Jury also charged Barnes with robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from three witnesses Thursday including the lead Sanford Police Department Investigator on the case and two lay witnesses, said Assistant State Attorney Stacey Salmons who presented the case. Barnes remains in the Seminole County Jail where he has been held since his arrest.
