June 21, 2016 The Seminole County Grand Jury Returns First-degree Murder Indictment

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 21, 2016

 

The Seminole County Grand Jury returned a first-degree premeditated murder indictment against 24-year-old Dazman Lavar Williams, 1300 E. Washington Ave., Eustis, for the May 24 shooting death of Johnkevius Donterra Carey. Williams was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a bulletproof vest.

 

Williams and two other individuals were arrested as they fled the scene of the shooting at 1600 West Fifth Street, Sanford. Sanford police responding to numerous 911 calls found the 22-year-old Carey lying nearby.

 

The Grand Jury heard testimony from a Sanford Police Department Investigator before returning the indictment. Williams remains in custody without bond since his arrest, said Assistant State Attorney Dan Faggard who presented the case to the jury.
