December 10, 2018 - Allen Cashe Enters Plea to 2017 First Degree Murders

Today (Dec 10) ALLEN CASHE entered a plea of No Contest and was adjudicated guilty for two (2) counts of First Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), four (4) counts of Attempted First Degree Premeditated Murder (LF), and one (1) count of Attempted First Degree Murder (LF) in connection with the March 27, 2017 murders of Latina Herring and Branden Christian, and the attempted murders of Bertis Herring, Brendan Christian, Lazaro Paredes, and Rakeya Jackson.

A Notice of Intent to Pursue the Death Penalty in this case was filed by our office on April 18, 2017 after CASHE was indicted by a Seminole County Grand Jury. Recently, attorneys for CASHE extended an offer to plea to all counts in exchange for the State withdrawing it's intent to pursue the death penalty.

Prosecutors conferred with Herring family members and our law enforcement partners to obtain their input prior to reaching a resolution in this case. This plea agreement represents their desire, and ours, to avoid the necessity of having Latina Herring's surviving 9 year old son testify at trial. It further represents justice on behalf of Latina Herring, Branden Christen and all of the persons victimized by Cashe's brutal attack.

CASHE also plead to Burglary of a Structure Inflicting Bodily Harm (F2), Shooting into a Dwelling (F2) and Violation of Probation (F2).

Sentencing is set for January 16th, 2019 - 8:30 AM before Judge John Galluzzo at the Seminole County Criminal Justice Center.
