February 12, 2019 - William Pyle Sentenced to 25 years for the Murder of Pamela Rooks

Yesterday (Feb 11) William Darin PYLE (52) entered a plea of No Contest to Second Degree Murder, was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 25 years in the Florida Department of Corrections for the murder of Pamela Rooks (55) on April 10, 2018.

Pyle strangled and struck Rooks during an argument at PYLE's home on Mont Blanc Ct in Casselberry. PYLE was arrested at the scene by Casselberry Police who responded to a 911 call from PYLE's mother after she found Rooks unresponsive at the home.

PYLE's attorneys offered the plea to avoid the mandatory life sentence of first degree murder. Prosecutors conferred with the Rooks family and our law enforcement partners to obtain their input prior to accepting the plea. In addition to imposing the 25 year sentence, the agreement insures that PYLE will remain in custody until his late 70's.

While no amount of incarceration can adequately account for the brutal actions of the defendant,  with this sentence,William PYLE will no longer pose a threat to the community and delivers justice on behalf of Pamela Rooks.
