March 13, 2019 -- Nicholas WORTHY Enters Plea Ending His Trial

Today (Mar 13) Nicholas WORTHY (30) entered a plea of No Contest to Neglect of a Child (F3) and the State no filed two (2) counts of Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M1). Judge Lisa Davidson accepted the plea and withheld adjudication, sentencing WORTHY to three (3) years supervised probation, and special conditions that include psychological evaluation and treatment, drug testing, and court costs. The State accepted the agreement after WORTHY offered to take responsibility for his role in the neglect of his daughter. The plea ended WORTHY's trial that began simultaneously with the child's mother and co-defendant Rachael TREXLER, on March 4, 2019.

WORTHY and his live-in girlfriend TREXLER were arrested by Brevard County Sheriff's Deputies on March 8, 2018, after responding to a reported disturbance in their home. WORTHY and TREXLER refused to cooperate with deputies and a search warrant was executed to gain access to the residence. Inside investigators discovered living conditions that placed the couple's nearly 3 year-old child at risk of serious injury or death by directly exposing her to animal waste, drug paraphernalia, cocaine residue, ammunition, and firearms.

TREXLER's trial will resume this afternoon before Judge Davidson as the State continues to present it's case against her.

WORTHY is expected to be released from the Brevard County Jail later today.
