Regarding the arrest and initial appearance today of Patrick LANDY on charges of Aggravated Stalking and Extortion, we can confirm that Mr. LANDY was an Assistant State Attorney with our office from June 12, 2017 until January 22, 2019.

As a result, our office will be requesting Governor DeSantis consider the executive appointment of another State Attorney to prosecute this case. With that expectation, it would be inappropriate for us to offer any opinion or statement related to this case.

We would request that questions related to the ongoing investigation, evidence, or any other aspect of this arrest, be directed to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Section.
