August 22, 2019 State Files Notice to Prosecute Stuart WOMACK JR as Adult

Today (Aug 22), Judge Morgan Reinman signed an Order of Transfer moving the prosecution of Stuart WOMACK JR (17), from the Juvenile Court to the adult Circuit Court. The action came after prosecutors direct filed an Information charging WOMACK JR with one (1) count of Second Degree Murder (F1 PBL), in connection with the death of his grandfather William Roy Womack (69).

On August 5, 2019, Titusville Police reported WOMACK JR got into an argument with William Womack, at his home on Hazelwood Ct, Titusville. A disagreement over watching a television program escalated to a physical attack, with WOMACK JR using several objects to beat William, including a jar of coins, glass bottles, and a yard stick. WOMACK JR then armed himself with a kitchen knife, chased William outside and pushed him to the ground where the attack continued. William Womack was transported to the hospital, but died from his injuries the following day.

WOMACK JR was initially arrested by Titusville PD and held at the Juvenile Detention Center. With today's action, WOMACK JR will be transfered to the Brevard County Jail with No Bond, and is scheduled for initial appearance tomorrow (Aug 23) at 1:15 pm.
