December 3, 2007 Brevard County Grand Jury Returns Indictment on Wade Dante Jackson

The Brevard County Grand Jury returned a first-degree felony murder with a firearm indictment today against 18-year-old Wade Dante Jackson for his role in the October 31 shooting death of Miles Sawvel III, 34. Jackson, who is being held at the Brevard County Jail, was also indicted by the Jury on charges of armed burglary of a dwelling with a firearm while inflicting death and kidnapping with a firearm.

"The Jury heard from three witnesses before returning the indictment," said Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt. The witnesses included an additional victim in the crimes and two Brevard County Sheriff’s Office agents.

Jackson, who lived on University Boulevard in Melbourne, was arrested by Brevard County Sheriff’s deputies on November 5. He has been held without bond since then but is scheduled to make a first appearance on the revised charges tomorrow (November 28).
