April 12, 2010 Brevard County Grand Jury Indicts On First-degree Murder

The Brevard County Grand Jury issued a first-degree premeditated murder with a firearm indictment today (April 6) against Akeem Jahmaul Robinson, 20, in connection with the March 5 shooting death of Devares Jackson, 22, Cocoa.

The jury heard testimony from a Cocoa Police Department detective, Florida Department of Law Enforcement crime scene technician, and two lay witnesses before returning the single-count indictment, said Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt. Robinson was arrested March 6 and has remained in the Brevard County Jail without bond where he is scheduled for a first appearance on the indictment charge tomorrow (Wednesday, April 7).
