The Seminole County Grand Jury has indicted a man for killing 18-year-old Isaiah Diaz with an assault rifle while he sat parked at a Sanford apartment complex in 2022.

THALLAS INMAN Jr., 23, is now charged with first-degree premeditated murder and faces life in prison without parole.  The Grand Jury also indicted INMAN for:

Police investigators say INMAN and two accomplices, armed with assault-style rifles, approached a parked red Kia Optima in the Hatteras Sound Apartments parking lot at about 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2022. Then, they opened fire on the car and its three occupants.

Of the more than 53 shots fired, police said, multiple rounds struck two people in the Kia including Diaz, who died from his wounds. The other shooting victim was hospitalized and survived. The third passenger suffered minor injuries.

In a separate case, INMAN, is one of 12 defendants indicted for murder and attempted murder for a drive-by shooting at a rapper’s entourage, which was riding in a Sprinter van in January 2023. The shooting killed passenger Princess Tolliver, 31, and injured five other women in the van.
