May 28, 2007 Brevard County Grand Jury Issues Two Murder Indictments

The Brevard County Grand Jury indicted Quentin Burkes, 22, and Howard Craft, Jr., 23, on charges of first-degree premeditated murder, two counts of robbery with a firearm, and armed burglary of a dwelling on Tuesday, May 22.

The men are charged in connection with the April 6 shooting death of Luis Ochoa in Cocoa, said Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt. Both of the charged men are also from Cocoa. They are both being held in the Brevard County jail without bail, and they are scheduled for a first-appearance on the charges tomorrow at the jail. Burkes was taken into custody on April 20 and Craft was arrested this weekend, Hunt said.

The jury heard from six witnesses including two Brevard County Sheriff's Office agents before returning the indictment, said Hunt.
