State Attorney’s Office leaders honored for supporting service in Guard and Reserves

State Attorney’s Office leaders in Seminole County have been honored for their support of staff who also serve in the U.S. National Guard and Reserve.

Chief Assistant State Attorney Stacey Salmons and Misdemeanor Division Chief Dave Whateley recently received the Patriot Award for their support of Assistant State Attorney Cody Vincitore, a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve. The award is presented by the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve Committee, an office of the U.S. Defense Department.

“When I’ve had to take off for military service, the answer is always, ‘We’ll figure it out – go do what you have to do,’” said Vincitore, a misdemeanor prosecutor and chief yeoman. “It makes my job easier, and it makes it easier to be in the Guard and Reserve when the nation calls.”  Vincitore nominated the leaders for the award.

Said Salmons: “On behalf of the State Attorney’s Office for the 18th Circuit, we are honored to support our Reservists and Guardsmen. Their dedication and sacrifice in serving our country inspire us every day, and we are proud to stand behind them as they balance their military service with their commitment to our community.”

Florida ESGR volunteer Pamela McGee, a human resources professional, presented the Patriot Awards at a ceremony at the State Attorney’s Office.

Staff members of the State Attorney’s Office in Seminole County attended the presentation of the Patriot Award.
