Brevard County Grand Jury

Indicts Two in Deputy Barbara Pill’s Murder

A Brevard County Grand Jury returned a first-degree premeditated murder indictment today (April 3) against Brandon Bradley, 22, 1965 Kennedy St., Melbourne for the March 6 death of Brevard Deputy Sheriff Barbara Pill.

Bradley was also indicted on charges of robbery, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and resisting arrest with violence.

The Grand Jury indicted Andria Michelle Kerchner, 19, 2268 Warwick Dr., Melbourne, on a first-degree felony murder charge for her role in the murder. She was also charged with robbery and burglary of a dwelling.

Deputy Pill was responding to the report of a theft of property at the York Inn, 4455 West New Haven Ave., Melbourne, when she spotted and stopped the car described in the theft. She was shot and killed as she ordered the car’s driver out of the vehicle.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from the Brevard County Medical Examiner, the lead Brevard County Sheriff’s Office agent on the case, and an employee at the motel.

Bradley and Kerchner have been held without bond in jails outside of Brevard County since their arrest March 6. Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt said for media to check with the Brevard County jail to see if either would be present for their arraignment.
