Seminole County Grand Jury Issues

First –Degree Murder Indictment

The Seminole County Grand Jury issued a first-degree premeditated murder indictment today charging Virginia Arteaga, 60, Altamonte Springs, in the Feb. 22 shooting death of her son, Blake Howard, 29. Arteaga has been held in the Seminole County jail without bond since her arrest on Feb. 23.

Assistant State Attorney Dan Faggard presented the case to the grand jurors who heard testimony from an Altamonte Springs Police Detective before returning the indictment.

Howard’s body was found in the home the two shared at 672 Post Oak Circle, Unit 110.
