November 7, 2016 Assistant State Attorney Gary Beatty Elected President of Thailand-Laos-Cambodia Brotherhood

Gary Beatty, a Brevard County resident and assistant state attorney in the 18thJudicial Circuit, was elected president of the Thailand-Laos-Cambodia Brotherhood (TLCB) at the association’s annual meeting in Washington, D. C.

The group was founded by veterans from all branches of service who were stationed in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Their purpose through their 501(c)3 charity is to continue to support the countries where they served. Beatty said the group was founded in 1998 and proudly reports that donations go 100 percent to the charity and that there are no administrative fees.

“We’ve worked with orphanages and schools mainly, put in roofing and flooring and water purification systems. Some of the donations have gone to help start up new businesses like agribusiness,” Beatty said. He also said that over the years eight students had been funded for lodging and board during their educational studies.

The organization (TLCB) consists of more than 600 veterans from all branches of service who have the desire and ability to assist countries damaged by a conflict in which they had no role, Beatty said. Anyone else who would like to contribute to the organization’s efforts may do so through their webpage at tlc-brotherhood.com.
