Project Eat
Project EAT began 13 years ago as a Christmas day dinner served to the community at a North Brevard location for anyone that wanted to attend. With the economic times the way it is last year we made some changes.
Project EAT is a program to provide North Brevard residents a take home bag, filled with the fixings to cook a full holiday dinner for your family. How wonderful this will be to supply fellow neighbors and friends with a little help during these troubled times by giving a hand up. You will be able to sign up for the gift bag by calling North Brevard Charities at 269-6555 between November 28th and December 9th, state you are calling for Project EAT and give your name, phone number, address and number of family members in your home. You will then be called back to set your pick up place and time.
The goal of the Project EAT project is to provide the elderly, single parent families and neighbors in need with a personal gift of a full holiday meal for them around the holidays. We hope that this program targets those residents who have little or no support in the area and would not otherwise have the means to cook a holiday meal to enjoy with their family and friends. This year we will have three pick up sites and expect to have supplies for over 250 families. Community Support plays a critical role in this effort. The success of this program over the past years has been attributed to companies such as Wal-Mart, Parrish Medical Center, Park Avenue Baptist Church, VITAS, Indian River City Methodist Church to list a few.
