Brevard County Grand Jury Returns Indictments in Two Separate Cases
The Brevard County Grand Jury issued first-degree murder indictments in two separate cases today.
In the first case, the Grand Jury considered the death of Danielle Jacobs. The Grand jury returned an indictment for first-degree premeditated murder and tampering with physical evidence against Alexandria Janine Schmidt and Jessica Elizabeth Brewer. Dhanvantarivisn Cramer was indicted for tampering with evidence. The Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed that Jacobs, 39, was murdered in Cocoa on August 22 and that the three women tried to conceal the death.
Two men were also indicted for their roles in the case, both on charges of accessory after the fact to first degree premeditated murder and tampering with physical evidence. They are Christopher Lance Maloney and Dennis Ronald Hughey. All five individuals remain at the Brevard County Jail.
In that case, the Jury heard from the Brevard County Medical Examiner, a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office crime scene investigator, and a Brevard County Sheriff’s homicide agent, said Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt.
The second case the Grand Jury considered involved a Labor Day Weekend shooting in Titusville. In that case, the Jury returned an indictment for two counts of first-degree premeditated murder and one count of attempted-first degree premeditated murder while inflicting great bodily harm with a firearm against William Woodward, Titusville. Woodward is accused of killing Gary Hembree and Roger Picior and wounding Bruce Timothy Blake following an escalating neighborhood dispute on Sept. 3.
In the Woodward case, the Jury heard from a Titusville Police Department crime scene technician, a Titusville Police Department detective, and a lay witness before returning the indictment, said Assistant State Attorney Hunt.
Woodward also remains in the Brevard County Jail.
