Murder Indictment in Palm Bay Child Abuse Death

The Brevard County Grand Jury issued a first-degree felony murder indictment Tuesday (Oct. 28, 2014) against Joseph Kyle La May, 24, in the Sept. 26 death of a four-month-old Palm Bay infant. La May was also indicted on a charge of aggravated child abuse, the underlying cause of the murder.

Assistant State Attorney Julia Lynch, who presented the case to the grand jury, said the jurors heard testimony from the Associate Brevard County Medical Examiner and a detective and crime scene investigator from the Palm Bay Police Department before returning the indictment.

La May is in jail in California awaiting extradition to Brevard County
