Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Two Sets of Brothers in Two Recent Murders
The Brevard County Grand Jury returned first-degree premeditated murder indictments today (May 8, 2007) against Marquis C. Hilson, 15, and Thomas Hilson III, 17, in connection with the April 11 drive-by shooting death of 18-year old Johntaivis Galvin of Cocoa.
The brothers have been held in the Brevard County juvenile detention facility but will be moved to the Brevard County Jail and are scheduled for a first appearance on the charges as adults on Wednesday (May 9). Marquis Hilson listed an address of 10803 Natalie Dr., Jacksonville, and Thomas Hilson lived at 311 Lakeview Blvd., Cocoa.
Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt said that four witnesses appeared before the Grand Jury, including a Brevard County Sheriffs Office crime scene technician, a Cocoa detective, and two lay witnesses.
At the conclusion of that case, the Grand Jury began hearing evidence in the case of 33-year-old Tyrone Williams death in Mims on April 8. Again, indictments were returned charging two brothers, both from 815 Barbara Lane, Cocoa.
Jessie Roy Tyson, 22, was indicted on charges of first-degree felony murder, attempted robbery with a firearm, robbery with a firearm, and aggravated assault with a firearm. Antonio L. Tyson, 24, was indicted on charges of first-degree felony murder, attempted robbery with a firearm, robbery with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Hunt said eight witnesses testified including a Brevard County Sheriffs Office crime scene investigator and homicide agent, and six lay witnesses. Jessie Tyson has been held at the Brevard County jail and is scheduled for a first appearance on the tomorrow charges tomorrow. A warrant for Antonio Tyson was issued April 9, but he remains at large, Hunt said.
