The Seminole County Grand Jury issued a multiple count indictment today (April 17, 2017) which includes two first-degree premeditated murder charges against Allen Cashe, 31, Sanford, for the March 27 shooting at 209 Hayes Dr. that resulted in the deaths of Latina Herring, 35, and her 8-year-old son, Branden Christian.

Cashe, who is being held without bond in the Seminole County Jail, was also charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm for shooting Latina’s father, 60-year-old Bertis Herring; Latina’s youngest child, 7-year-old Brenden Christian; and two by-standers, Rakeya Jackson, 18; and Lazaro Paredes, 43.

Additionally, the Grand Jury indicted Cashe on charges of burglary of a dwelling with an assault or battery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and shooting into a dwelling.

Assistant State Attorney Dan Faggard, who presented the information to the Grand Jury, said they heard testimony from the lead Sanford Police Department investigator before returning the indictment late Monday.
