Brevard County Grand Jury Issues Indictment

In Melbourne Murder Case

The Brevard County Grand Jury issued an indictment today (May 2) charging ROGER E. GOODRICH 58, with one (1) count of first degree premeditated murder for the beating death of his roommate Michael Barlow (56)that took place in March at 301 Palmetto Avenue in Melbourne.

On March 22nd Melbourne Police were called to the home and determined that some days earlier, GOODRICH had struck Barlow repeatedly with a large wooden elephant resulting in his death. GOODRICH was later arrested and is being held on no bond at the Brevard County Jail.

The grand jury heard testimony from Melbourne Investigators and the Brevard County Medical Examinerbefore returning with the indictment. No trial date has been set and GOODRICH’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 3rd, 2017 8:00 AM.
