Seminole County Grand Jury Returns Indictments

In Two Separate April Homicides

The Seminole County Grand Jury returned murder indictments today in two separate early April homicides.

In the first case, Dwayne Fitzgerald Brown, 28, 1509 W. 13thPlace, Sanford, was indicted on charges of first-degree felony murder, burglary of a conveyance with an assault or battery, and attempted robbery with a firearm. Brandon Vernell Bryant, 27, Sanford, was killed while parked in his car outside 1407 Historic Goldsboro Blvd. in Sanford.

The grand jury also indicted 16-year old Treveon Neal-Eudell as an adult on the same case and for the same charges for his role in the robbery and shooting of Bryant.

Assistant State Attorney Dan Faggard said the grand jury heard testimony from a Sanford Police Investigator before returning the two indictments. Both defendants remain in custody awaiting trial.

In the second case, jurors returned a first-degree premeditated murder charge against Chandler J. Belaston, 34, Oviedo, in connection to the April 13 beating death of Jean Belaston, 66, his father. Oviedo Police were called to the home at 1393 Harrison St. and found the senior Belaston dead on his bedroom floor.

Assistant State Stacey Salmons said the jury heard testimony from an Oviedo Police Department Detective and two Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators before returning the indictment. Chandler Belaston was arrested on April 20 and has been held awaiting trial since then.
