The Office of the State Attorney has filed a formal Information charging Sebastian Police Officer Eric Antosia with one (1) count of Animal Cruelty F.S. 828.12(1), a 1st degree misdemeanor. The filing stems from the Melbourne Police Department and State Attorney investigation into the death of Sebastian Police K-9 "Diesel" after he was left unattended in Antosia's patrol vehicle on April 28th, 2017.

A trial date has not yet been set. Inquiries can be directed to our Public Information Office; however we're ethically prohibited from commenting further on the case as it proceeds to trial.
