February 28, 2018 Brevard Grand Jury Issues Indictment in 2017 North Brevard Murder Case

The Brevard County Grand Jury issued an indictment yesterday (February 27) charging RICHARD GLEN YOUNG (35), with one (1) count of first degree murder for the stabbing death of Grady Wright (80), after a February 17th, 2017 incident at Wright's home in Scottsmoor.

After a nearly year long investigation, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office identified YOUNG as the only suspect in the case, and the person responsible for Wright's murder.

The grand jury heard testimony from a BCSO Agent,  Crime Scene Investigator and the Brevard County Medical Examiner before returning with the indictment. An arrest warrant was issued for YOUNG who was taken into custody at the Cocoa Bridges Community Release Center yesterday evening (February 27th).

No trial date has been set and YOUNG’s next court appearance is scheduled for today (February 28th) 1:15 PM, at the Brevard County jail.

YOUNG remains in custody on NO BOND.
