May 8, 2018 - State Will Prosecute Bradley Bell - 16 As Adult in Kennedy Middle School Incident

Today, (May 8th, 2018) our office filed an Information charging Bradley Jamal Bell (16) as an adult, with one (1) count of Discharge of a Weapon on School Property (F-2), one (1) count of Possession of a Weapon on School Property (F-2), one (1) count of Grand Theft (F-3), and one (1) count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor under Eighteen (M-1).

While BELL has no prior history in the juvenile justice system, the troubling and serious nature of the offenses identified by the Rockledge Police Department, warrant this decision. By bringing a firearm onto school property and discharging it in the presence of other students, BELL's actions require the sanctions available in the adult criminal justice system, to ensure the safety of everyone on Brevard County school campuses.

BELL's next scheduled court appearance will be on May 9th, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the Brevard County Jail.

As of today (May 8th), the firearm used by BELL has not been recovered. Rockledge Police ask that anyone with information that could lead to it's recovery, contact Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward if the firearm is located.
