June 11, 2018 - Guilty Plea Thirty Year Sentence In Attempted Murder Of Longwood Senior.

Today (June 11th) ROMAN DUSK (66) entered a plea of guilty to Attempted First Degree Premeditated Murder, Arson of a Dwelling, and Tampering with Physical Evidence for his brutal attack on Galina Spears (94) in her Longwood home, August 17th, 2017.

DUSK’s trial was set to begin when he and his attorney, without benefit of a plea agreement, offered a plea of guilty on all counts to the Court. Judge Donna McIntosh then sentenced DUSK to serve the next thirty (30) years in the Florida Department of Corrections.

While we are satisfied that DUSK will spend what is likely to be the remainder of his life in prison, we are deeply saddened that Galina Spears, who passed away earlier this year, could not be here to witness this outcome.

In a statement after the sentence was imposed, State Attorney Phil Archer said “There is no punishment that can adequately account for the brutality and suffering that Roman Dusk inflicted on Ms. Spears in the very last days of her life” Then went on to say, “However this sentence ensures that for the next thirty years, each day Dusk spends in prison, represents a day of justice for Galina Spears.”
