December 15, 2020 - Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Robert QUACKENBUSH For Premeditated Murder

On Tuesday (Dec 15), the Brevard County Grand Jury indicted Robert QUACKENBUSH (29), for First Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), in connection to the shooting death of Travis Knight (31), at the Circles of Care in Melbourne.

On December 2, 2020, just before 5:00 p.m., Melbourne Police responded to reports of a shooting at the Circles of Care facility at 880 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive employee, Travis Knight, in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by Melbourne paramedics.

Employees of the facility had both witnessed the shooting and detained QUACKENBUSH at the scene. They also observed QUACKENBUSH discard a firearm, later collected as evidence by police. QUACKENBUSH was arrested for murder and held without bond at the Brevard County Jail.

The grand jury heard testimony from a Melbourne Police crime scene investigator and criminal investigator, along with the Brevard County Medical Examiner, before returning with the indictment.

QUACKENBUSH remains in the Brevard County Jail on No Bond. The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Robin Lemonidis, and no trial date has been set.
