- Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Philip KELLER JR in Fiancé Murder
Yesterday (Jun 22), the Brevard County Grand Jury indicted Philip M. KELLER JR. (39), for First Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), Grand Theft (F3), Criminal Use of Personal Information (F3), Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card (F3), and Tampering with Evidence (F3), in connection to the death of Alicia Campitelli (35), on May 15, 2021.
On May 15, 2021, at approximately 11:13 a.m. KELLER JR. called 9-11 and reported that he had returned to the couple's home on Schoolhouse Street in Merritt Island to discover an unresponsive Campitelli on the floor suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. KELLER JR also said that it appeared that someone had broken into the home, killing Campitelli.
Over the course of the next four days, Brevard County Sheriff's Deputies investigating the homicide discovered physical and video surveillance evidence that brought KELLER JR's account of the incident into question. When confronted with evidence of his involvement, KELLER JR. confessed to murdering Campitelli during an argument and while under the influence of MDMA or "Molly." KELLER JR. was arrested by BCSO Deputies on May 20, 2021, and held on No Bond in the Brevard County Jail.
The Grand Jury heard testimony from a Brevard County Sheriff's Crime Scene Investigator and Agent before returning with the indictment.
