Yesterday (Aug 31), the Brevard County Grand Jury indicted Rod SWIM (32) for First Degree Premeditated Murder with a Firearm (CF), and Marqwone LEMON (24) for First Degree Felony Murder with a Firearm (CF), Robbery with a Firearm Inflicting Death (F1 PBL), and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm (F3), False Imprisonment (F3), and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon (F3), in separate incidents.

 

On May 10, 2021, at approximately 6:30 pm, Titusville Police responded to a 9-11 call of a shooting at 555 Rockpit Road. There they found Curtis Murray Jr (34) shot once during a robbery at his home. Murray later died from his injuries. Security video helped identify both LEMON and a vehicle used during the offense. An arrest warrant was issued, and LEMON was captured in Orange County on June 9, 2021, where he was held on No Bond. LEMON is currently in the Volusia County Jail on unrelated charges and will be returned to Brevard County upon disposition of those charges. He will be held on No Bond on the Brevard County case.

 

On August 7, 2021, at approximately 1:20 pm, Titusville Police responded to a 9-11 call from SWIM stating that he had shot his wife, later identified as Sarah Swim (29), after a domestic argument at the couple's home at 4320 Coquina Avenue. Upon arrival, police found Sarah Swim already deceased, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. SWIM was arrested and held on No Bond.

 

The Grand Jury heard testimony from Titusville Police Investigators and the Brevard Medical Examiner, and a lay witness before returning with the indictments.

 

SWIMM is being held on No Bond at the Brevard County Jail and no trial date has been set in either case. Please consult the Brevard Clerk of Courts website for updates on future court appearances by these defendants.
