The Brevard County Grand Jury issued an indictment against Patrick W. Wharen, Sr., charging him with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder in the April 4 deaths of his estranged wife, Kelly Wharen, and Jonathon Vuick.

Additionally, the Grand Jury charged Wharen with attempted manslaughter for the wounding of his son, Patrick W. Wharen,Jr., during the same incident.

Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt said the Jury heard from a Brevard County Sheriff's Office crime scene investigator and case agent, and three witnesses from the neighborhood. Wharen remains hospitalized and will be arraigned on the charge upon his release from the hospital.
