November 15, 2021 - Seminole Grand Jury Indicts Two for First-Degree Murder

Tuesday (Nov 9), the Seminole County Grand Jury indicted Reynaldo PACHECO (43), for First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF); and Anthony THOMAS (35) for First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF) and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon (F2), in separate incidents.

PACHECO was identified by Sanford Police as the person who intentionally shot and killed Javier Espinoza (33) after the two had been drinking alcohol and arguing on October 30, 2021, at PACHECO's home at 2635 Magnolia Avenue. Sanford Police reported that after responding to a 9-11 call, PACHECO admitted to shooting Espinoza after a physical confrontation. Angered by Espinoza's aggressive behavior, PACHECO retrieved a firearm from inside the home and then shot and killed Espinoza in the carport. PACHECO was taken into custody and held without bond.

THOMAS was identified by Seminole County Deputies as the person who shot and killed Cordell St. Aime (24), on September 23, 2021, in front of 325 Salina Drive, Altamonte Springs. After a weeks long investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained and THOMAS was taken into custody and held without bond on October 25, 2021.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from Investigators with the Sanford Police and Seminole County Sheriff's Office, along with the Seminole County Medical Examiner before returning the indictments.

PACHECO and THOMAS will continue to be held on No Bond at the Seminole County Jail. No trial dates have been set in these cases. Please consult the Seminole Clerk of Courts website for updates on future court appearances by these defendants.
