March 30, 2022 - Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Kendall BRITT for First-Degree Premeditated Murder

Yesterday (Mar 29), the Brevard Grand Jury Indicted Kendall BRITT (26), for First Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), in connection to the shooting death of Anthony Greenwood (45), who was found deceased at a residence in unincorporated Cocoa.

On January 18, 2022, Brevard County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 911 call from BRITT at 2462 Uranus Drive in Cocoa, where they discovered the body of Greenwood who had been shot to death. Both BRITT and Greenwood had been staying at the residence prior to the murder; however, BRITT claimed he was not at home when the incident took place. The Brevard Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

In a weeks-long investigation, deputies were able to link BRITT to both the crime scene and Greenwood's murder using witness testimony, physical evidence, and telephone records. A warrant charging BRITT with First Degree Murder was obtained on February 25, 2022, and served at the Brevard County Jail, where BRITT was already in custody on other charges. With this indictment, BRITT will continue to be held on No Bond.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from the Brevard Medical Examiner, a Brevard County Sheriff's Office crime scene investigator and detective, and two lay witnesses before returning with the indictment.

No trial date has been set in this case. Please consult the Brevard Clerk of Courts website for updates on future court appearances by this defendant.
