Today (Mar 30), State Attorney Phil Archer confirmed participation by his office in the new EVOLVE initiative announced by Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Chris Anderson earlier this week.

In a statement after the announcement State Attorney Phil Archer said, “We look forward to partnering with the Supervisor of Elections. Confidence in our elections is crucial and this initiative creates a clear roadmap to ensure that suspected irregularities are carefully examined, investigated, and if necessary prosecuted.”

“I have assigned one of my most experienced attorneys Division Chief Domenick Leo, to conduct a preliminary review of any suspected violations we receive from the Supervisor of Elections.” He went on to add, “Complaints indicating a suspected criminal violation will be referred to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Dennis Lemma to undergo a thorough, professional investigation in support of any potential prosecution by my office.”

Election integrity has and will continue to remain a top priority for the Office of the State Attorney in the 18^th Judicial Circuit. It’s hoped that this initiative will not only identify suspected violations but also act as a deterrent, helping to maintain public confidence in all future elections.
