March 30, 2022 - State Attorney Confirms Partnership in Seminole EVOLVE Initiative

Today (Mar 30), State Attorney Phil Archer confirmed participation by his office in the new EVOLVE initiative announced by Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Chris Anderson earlier this week.

In a statement after the announcement State Attorney Phil Archer said, “We look forward to partnering with the Supervisor of Elections. Confidence in our elections is crucial and this initiative creates a clear roadmap to ensure that suspected irregularities are carefully examined, investigated, and if necessary prosecuted.”

“I have assigned one of my most experienced attorneys Division Chief Domenick Leo, to conduct a preliminary review of any suspected violations we receive from the Supervisor of Elections.” He went on to add, “Complaints indicating a suspected criminal violation will be referred to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Dennis Lemma to undergo a thorough, professional investigation in support of any potential prosecution by my office.”

Election integrity has and will continue to remain a top priority for the Office of the State Attorney in the 18th Judicial Circuit. It’s hoped that this initiative will not only identify suspected violations but also act as a deterrent, helping to maintain public confidence in all future elections.
