On Tuesday (Mar 29), the Brevard County Grand Jury indicted Domenico GIGANTE (36), on four (4) counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), and one (1) count of Armed Burglary  While Inflicting Great Bodily Harm or Death (F1 PBL), in connection to the March 1, 2023, murders of Glenda Terwilliger (63), Constance Terwilliger (35), Kiarra Terwilliger (15), and Michael Watson (36).

 

GIGANTE was arrested by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office after investigators identified him as the person who had broken into a home at 4075 Alan Shepard Avenue and shot the four victims. Kiarra Terwilliger was identified as GIGANTE's biological daughter, along with her mother Constance Terwilliger, and her Grandmother Glenda Terwilliger. Michael Watson also resided in the home and was identified as the father of two children found unharmed by deputies.

 

These indictments qualify GIGANTE for the death penalty and prosecutors are currently following the established process of carefully receiving and reviewing available evidence in support of seeking it for each of the victims. The State has 45 days from GIGANTE's arraignment on these indictments to complete their review and file any death penalty notice.

 

In a statement State Attorney Phil Archer said, "Even though GIGANTE's prior convictions could not have produced a prison sentence preventing these horrific crimes, I am aware of the great responsibility placed on my office to use every means possible to protect society from predators and seek justice on behalf of victims. This includes asking a jury to impose the ultimate punishment of putting a criminal defendant to death to ensure that outcome."
