Each year, the Brevard County Association of Chiefs of Police hosts an awards dinner to recognize the contributions and outstanding service of law enforcement professionals from each Brevard County agency, including the Office of the State Attorney.

The 2023 Trial Attorney of the Year selection was Assistant State Attorney Nader Hatoum. Serving since 2018, Nader has been assigned to the Career Criminal and Firearm Division, where he is responsible for the prosecution of often violent repeat offenders who prey on our community. In the past year, Nader obtained convictions in several high-profile cases, including the sexual battery of a 5-year-old child, with the defendant receiving 3 life sentences.

Recognizing the selection State Attorney Phil Archer said, "Nader is a key component to the success of our office and will continue his dedication to serving the citizens of Brevard County. Please join me in congratulating Mr. Nader Hatoum, the State Attorney Trial Attorney of the Year."
