May 24, 2023 - Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Dominic BLAND and Justin GIAMBANCO for First-Degree Murder

Tuesday (May 23), the Brevard County Grand Jury issued First-Degree Murder indictments for two defendants in two separate homicides.

Dominic BLAND (31) was indicted for First-Degree Premeditated Murder with Firearm (CF), in connection to the death of Carl Wigfall (56), in Titusville.

On April 24, 2023, just before 3:30 a.m., Titusville Police responded to Palmetto Street for reported gunshots and screaming heard in the area. Police found Wigfall deceased in his apartment, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. A witness said Wigfall and BLAND were arguing, before BLAND produced a firearm, shot Wigfall, and fled the area. A warrant was obtained for BLAND who remained at large until April 26, 2023, when he was observed driving in Titusville. BLAND fled from police and was taken into custody after he crashed his vehicle.  BLAND now faces additional charges of Fleeing and Attempting to Elude (F3), Resisting Arrest without Violence (M1), and Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (M2).

Justin GIAMBANCO (31) was indicted for First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), Armed Burglary of a Dwelling (F1 PBL), False Imprisonment (F3), Grand Theft Firearm (F3), and Petit Theft (M2), in connection to the death of Paul Black (68).

On March 20, 2023, just after 7:30 p.m., Palm Bay Police responded to Palm Drive NE where a 911 caller reported a dead person inside a residence. Police found the home ransacked with Black lying deceased on the bedroom floor under a television. Investigators also discovered a cell phone under Black’s body that was identified as belonging to GIAMBANCO. The subsequent investigation revealed that GIAMBANCO was arrested earlier that same day by Melbourne Police for an unrelated burglary. A firearm, along with other property belonging to Black, was recovered from GIAMBANCO’s vehicle at the time of his arrest.

The Medical Examiner determined Black’s cause of death was blunt force trauma and multiple sharp force injuries.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from Investigators with the Titusville and Palm Bay Police Departments, along with the Medical Examiner before returning with the indictments.

Both defendants are in custody at the Brevard County Jail with No Bond. No trial date has been set in these cases. Please consult the Brevard Clerk of Courts website for updates on future court appearances by these defendants.
