June 5, 2023 - Cresean MILLER Sentenced for Unlawful Travel to Meet Minor

Today (June 5), Circuit Judge Donna Goerner sentenced Cresean MILLER (29), to two (2) years in state prison after a Seminole County Jury convicted him on May 4, 2023, on one felony count of Unlawful Travel to Meet a Minor (F2).

After a one-day trial with evidence presented by Assistant State Attorneys Anna Valentini and Scott Wood, the jury deliberated just over an hour before returning with the guilty as charged verdict. Judge Goerner ordered that MILLER be designated a Sex Offender, applying a number of conditions upon his release, including mandatory registration, no residence within 1000 feet of a park or school, and no employment where children are regularly present.

In a statement after the sentencing, ASA Valentini thanked the jury and recognized the efforts of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children Unit saying "The incredible efforts of these investigators stopped a terrible crime before it happened. No family was torn apart, no child had their life forever altered. We should all be grateful for what they do to protect our community."

MILLER'S conviction stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children Unit aimed at protecting children from sexual predators. On August 30, 2022, MILLER messaged what he believed to be a 14-year-old female on a dating application, however he was actually communicating with detectives. MILLER used explicit messages to arrange a next day meeting for sex and was arrested upon arrival. While admitting to knowingly meeting a minor, MILLER claimed he was only there to warn her about the dangers of the internet.
