November 14, 2023 - Seminole Grand Jury Indicts Adult and Juvenile for First-Degree Murder

Tuesday (Nov 14), the Seminole Grand Jury indicted Jackie IRVING JR (18), and Princeton POSTELL (17), for First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), in connection to the death of Jamarcus Parker (16), in Sanford.

On October 22, 2023, Sanford Police responded to a reported shooting incident at the Stratford Pointe Apartments just before 6:00 pm where they found Jamarcus Parker unresponsive lying in the parking lot. Having suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Parker was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Using surveillance footage and witness testimony, Sanford detectives established that IRVING and POSTELL had driven to the complex where they shot and killed Parker after a reported dispute. An arrest warrant was issued for both with IRVING taken into custody on October 25, 2023, and POSTELL in Volusia County also on October 25, 2023.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from a Sanford Police investigator before returning with the indictments.

IRVING is currently being held on No Bond at the Seminole County Jail. POSTELL is in custody at the Seminole Juvenile Detention Center; however, this indictment charges him as an adult.  Once an order transfering the case to Circuit Court is issued, POSTELL will be moved to the Seminole County Jail and held on No Bond.

While both defendants face prosecution for a qualified capital felony, the case must first undergo a formal review to determine if the death penalty should be sought in this instance.

Please consult the Seminole Clerk of Courts website for updates on future court appearances by these defendants.
