January 25, 2024 - Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Jamarcus SIMPSON and Juan SHUREN JR for Palm Bay Murders

Wednesday (Jan 24), a Brevard Grand Jury Indicted Jamarcus SIMPSON (18), for First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF)(2 Counts), and Robbery with a Firearm (F1PBL), along with Juan SHUREN JR (17), indicted for First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF)(2 Counts), in connection to the deaths of Travon Anthony Jr (16), and Jeremiah Brown (14) in Palm Bay.

On December 25, 2022, at 8:30 pm, Palm Bay Police responded to an undeveloped wooded area commonly known as "The Compound", where a witness had discovered the deceased body of Travon Anthony. Police later located the deceased body of Jeremiah Brown nearby and determined both had sustained gunshot wounds.

Investigators developed two suspects, SIMPSON and SHUREN, who were both related to the victims. Over the next 12 months, evidence gathered from the crime scene, search warrants, and witness testimony lead to these indictments. SHUREN will now face prosecution as an adult.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from Palm Bay investigators, a lay witness, and the Brevard County Medical Examiner before returning with the indictments.

No trial date has been set in this case. Please consult the Brevard Clerk of Courts website for updates on future court appearances by these defendants.
