- Timothy UPTHEGROVE Found Guilty of First-Degree Murder
On Thursday (Feb 29), a Brevard County Jury found Timothy UPTHEGROVE (59), guilty of First-Degree Premeditated Murder (CF), Tampering with Evidence (F3), and Failure to Report a Death (M1), in connection with the killing of his wife, Lori Upthegrove, 51 during a December 18th, 2017 attack at the couple's home in Titusville.
Circuit Judge Steve Henderson presided over the seven (7) day trial with evidence presented by Assistant State Attorneys Kari Kies and Shane Williams. After approximately nine (9) hours of deliberation, the jury returned with the guilty verdicts.
Judge Henderson adjudicated UPTHEGROVE guilty, and sentenced him to Life in prison. UPTHEGROVE will now be transfered to the Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence.
On December 19, 2017, Lori Upthegrove was reported missing by friends and family. An investigation by Titusville Police identified her husband, UPTHEGROVE as a suspect and he was arrested on December 24, 2017, charged with murder. UPTHGROVE told investigators he had killed Lori during an argument, and then hid her deceased body. UPTHEGROVE then directed Titusville Police to a lot on Bobbi Lane where Lori's remains were recovered.
