May 14, 2024 - Christopher BOUIE JR Facing Adult Prosecution in Cabana Live Shooting

Monday (May 13), Circuit Judge John Galluzzo signed an Order of Transfer moving the prosecution of Christopher BOUIE JR (16), from the Juvenile Court to the adult Circuit Court. The action came after prosecutors direct filed an Information charging BOUIE with five (5) counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder While Discharging a Firearm (F2), and one (1) count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (M1), in connection with the shooting of multiple persons at the Cabana Live event venue on April 28, 2024.

Just after midnight, Seminole County Sheriff's Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls of an active shooting at the Cabana Live club located within the Port of Sanford.  According to witnesses and security video, a physical fight between two patrons resulted in an uninvolved juvenile (BOUIE) producing a firearm and firing multiple shots into the crowd. A total of ten (10) victims sustained non-life threatening injuries, including NFL Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell. BOUIE was tackled and disarmed by security officers.

The investigation into additional shots fired by another patron remains active and ongoing.

BOUIE was initially arrested by Seminole County Sheriff's Deputies and held at the Juvenile Detention Center. With this action, BOUIE will be transferred to the Seminole County Jail and held on No Bond. Please consult the Seminole Clerk of Courts website for updates on future court appearances by this defendant.
