July 1, 2024 - Leekhan BRYAN Sentenced to Life in Prison

On Friday (Jun 28), Circuit Judge Melanie Chase sentenced Leekhan BRYAN (62), to Life in state prison after a Seminole County Jury convicted him on June 25, 2024, for First-Degree Felony Murder (CF), Kidnapping (F1 PBL),  Armed Burglary of a Dwelling (F1 PBL), Grand Theft (F3), Grand Theft of a Vehicle (F3), and Tampering with Evidence (F3), for the brutal killing of Trevor Morrison (62), in 2021.

In a five-day trial with evidence presented by Assistant State Attorneys Stewart Stone and Jacob Polk, the jury deliberated just over three (3) hours before returning with the guilty as charged verdicts qualifying BRYANT for a potential death sentence. After a two-day hearing where prosecutors presented evidence supporting five (5) aggravating factors, the jury found those factors had been proven, however returned a recommendation of life in prison.

Judge Chase then imposed a Life sentence for the Felony Murder, Kidnapping and Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, along with five (5) years for each of the remaining counts, all to be served concurrently.

After the sentencing prosecutors thanked the Longwood Police Department for their tireless investigative efforts that were instrumental to obtaining the conviction and delivering justice on behalf of Mr. Morrison and his family.

BRYAN was identified by Longwood Police as the person who had beaten and strangled to death Trevor Morrison (62), at his home at 315 Heather Avenue, then used the victim’s car to drive the body to Brevard County placing it into the Banana River. BRYAN was apprehended in Osceola County still driving the victim’s car.

After the sentencing, BRYAN was returned to custody at the Seminole County Jail and will be transferred to the Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence.
