April 4, 2024 - State Files Notice of Intent to Seek Death Penalty for Ta'Shawn TAYLOR

On March 19, 2024, the State filed a Notice of Intent to Seek the Death Penalty for Ta'Shawn TAYLOR (26), for each of the First-Degree Premeditated Murders (CF) of Lisa Suglam (31), Angella Suglam (60), and Stephen Suglam (79) in Palm Bay, on January 20, 2024. In their notice, prosecutors said the murders were "committed in a cold, calculated, and premeditated manner without any pretense of moral or legal justification."

TAYLOR became eligible for the death penalty after being indicted by a Brevard Grand Jury on February 20, 2024, on three (3) counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder. TAYLOR was also indicted for two (2) counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder for shooting Kamauri Curry (15), and Gary Taylor (59).

TAYLOR was arrested by Palm Bay Police after witnesses identified him as the person who had fled from a home on Woodlake Drive armed with a firearm, where the victims were found deceased and wounded.

TAYLOR will remain in custody with NO BOND at the Brevard County Jail.  The case is currently set for Docket Review before Circuit Judge Tesha Scolaro Ballou, May 3, 2024 - 9:00 AM, at the Historic Titusville Courthouse.
